Avocados are a godsend. They pose amazing benefits for the health of your body and skin as well. Most people consider avocados the beauty king, second only to coconut oil.
I’ve always used avocado with other ingredients in facemasks, but this time I thought I’d try it solo just to see if it would give me the results I needed. My skin’s been feeling rough and dry lately, majorly because of the cold. Avocados are known for infusing skin with moisture and leaving a shiny glow.
Slice ¼ of an avocado and place it in a bowl. Use a fork to mash the avocado. Prepare your face using hot water to steam it or wash it using warm water to open up the pores. Gently apply the facemask onto your face and wait 20 minutes. Find a relaxed position.
This mask feels so cool to apply. I could feel my face tightening during drying time- amazing that avocado has such strong tightening power on its own! This means it improves skin elasticity.
My skin looked fresh, like I had just had a facelift. It looked soft to touch and well moisturized. It was also shiny and looked young. I was thoroughly impressed with what just a ¼ of an avocado can do for the skin. What took less than 5 minutes to prepare ended up curing my dryness.
Beauty Benefits of Avocado
Aside from maintaining skin elasticity and strength, avocado moisturizes, lubricates and hydrates skin. Using an avocado facemask can restore lost moisture as well as improve the texture of your skin.
Avocados are rich in Vitamin E which slows down aging, fights free radicals and fades acne scars. The biotin content in avocado ensures skin is well moisturized and has life.
DIY Avocado Facemask Tips
-Lie down during drying time to avoid the pull from gravity
-Use before showering because it can get messy
-Use warm water to wash off the facemask and finish off with cold water. Do not use soap to rinse off the mask
-Use up to twice a week
You’d be doing yourself a great injustice by denying your skin some avocado love. Avocado blesses my skin and restores it time after time. This power fruit has never failed me. I look forward to using this facemask for the next couple of weeks. Come at me hydration!
